Honestly...

Katy Perry, in my opinion, is currently the most brilliant popstar out there. This song "Roar" is incredible, and there’s no question there. But having to follow a line-up of all the #1 hit singles that Teenage Dream offered, as well as the album as a whole, is hard for any song.
Being a die-hard KP fan, I am a bit disapointed to hear a sound so incredibly similar to the Teenage Dream era. To be blunt, the song could have fit in Teenage Dream album, perhaps as Firework’s iron-fisted cousin.
I absolutely love "Roar", but I hope that the rest of the album proves to be original material even from Katy’s previous albums.
I think artists today run into trouble when they try to duplicate a past success.
Again, I love Katy, love this song (probably the best song I’ve heard this year), but you could say I’m trying to be hard on Katy because I’d hate to see one of the most promising artists in the business settle for any less than the incredible standard she’s set for herself. And I’d hate to say later that only her second record was the peak of her career. Here’s to PRISM blowing Teenage Dream out of the water!!
